Album: Somewhere in Texas
Artist: Hank Stone
Label: Texas Country Music

This brand new CD by Hank, with lots of Texas dance hall music really hits the jackpot. It consists of 12 tunes sung by Hank and with a back-up by many wonderful musicians.

Hank himself is heard playing bass as is also Greg Norris. The album also features the fiddles of Ron Knuth, Bobby Flores and Byron Zipp. Randy Reinhardt, Kenny Grohman and Terrill O'Neal are heard playing some very enjoyable steel guitar and Peter Carey and Keith Kimball play standard guitar. Both Peter Carey and Randy Reinhardt are heard playing piano and again, Peter as well as Michael Carey and Miles Evans are heard playing drums.

The album opens in the Texas dance hall mood with Hank's own One Thing After Another. Also in that style is Walk Away, I Guess I'm Getting Tired, Nat Stuckey's Don't you Believe her and Bubba Littrell's Thank God for Country Music. Willie Nelson's It Should be Easier Now from the great Ray Price is revisited as is Ray Pennington's Somewhere in Texas also from Ray Price. Hank borrows from Europe's king of Texas dance hall music, Hermann Lammers Meyer, Silver Dollar Bar and remembers the late Leon Payne with The Cross I Have to Bear. Two more of Hank's own compositions are the country novelty Country Girl and his tribute to Texas Music. The final tune is the inspirational Who am I.

The album can be obtained for $15, including postage, from Hank Stone, 5954 Danny Kaye, San Antonio, Texas 78240. You can also e-mail him at hankstone@satx.rr.com
